Go Live is the native live-session experience within Communities, allowing admins to host interactive meetings or broadcast professional streams directly inside any group or channel. Members can join instantly, participate through chat and emoji reactions, and—if enabled—access session replays. Because the experience is fully integrated, hosts maintain attention in one space while simplifying setup for everyone.

Key Benefits of Go Live in Communities

  • Flexible modes: Choose interactive meetings or high-quality broadcast setups.
  • Built-in engagement tools: Real-time chat, emoji reactions, and hand-raise features.
  • Robust host controls: Manage audio, video, screen sharing, and permissions.
  • Recording and replay: Capture sessions and provide replays for those who couldn’t attend.

How to Use Go Live in Communities

Open the Group and Start a Go Live Post

Navigate to the “Memberships” section within your sub-account and select the “Communities” tab, then choose “Groups.” From there, open the desired group.

Select the Go Live button (red video-camera icon).

Add Post Details

Select the channel where the post will be published and set the posting time (default is “Now”).

Pin📌Note: Be sure to allow browser access to your camera and microphone.

Scroll down on the right-hand panel and enter a Title and Description.

Configure the settings to save the livestream as a post and notify members that you’re going live.

Choose Your Video Source

Option 1 — Meeting Room

Use this mode for interactive, face-to-face collaboration—ideal for coaching calls, workshops, meetups, and office hours—where hosts control who can speak, share, or present. It offers a dynamic meeting room with host controls, chat, reactions, hand-raise, screen sharing, flexible layouts, attendee/host roles, and optional session recording with replay posting.

Members can join by selecting the Join Stream button in the channel.

As the host, you can switch between Speaker and Gallery views, manage audio and video devices, review the participant list, grant or revoke microphone, camera, or screen-sharing permissions, remove participants, access chat, reactions, and raise-hand features, share your screen, or pin speakers.

When finished, end the session by selecting End session. After the session ends, a post with the recording will be generated once processing is complete.

Option 2 — Streaming Software (RTMP)

This is a broadcast-style mode that connects to external encoders (OBS, Zoom, StreamYard) using a Stream Key and URL, allowing members to watch and engage via in-platform chat. It is ideal for creators using professional production software, and offers auto-generated Stream Key/URL, low-latency playback, viewer chat and reactions, and full support for existing scenes, overlays, and camera setups.

Select Streaming Software, then copy the Server URL and Stream Key.

Paste the Server URL and Stream Key into your encoder’s RTMP/custom settings (e.g., OBS, Zoom, StreamYard), then start the broadcast from your encoder.

Return to your community and begin the Go Live session.

With flexible modes, powerful host controls, and built-in engagement tools, Go Live empowers you to run events that feel seamless, professional, and truly connected.
