The Chat Widget lets you instantly capture visitors from your website and transform them into leads inside the system. If you are here that probably means you've already created a Chat Widget and are ready to use it. However, your Chat Widget has to be connected to a website to be functional.

So who do you connect it? The answer will depend on where you've built your website, so let's check all the ways to get the Chat Widget set. Before we begin, make sure you have created, customized, and saved at least one Chat Widget in your CRM. If you have not please check our related articles on how to do so.

Adding to Your CRM Sites

If you created your Website inside your CRM or you want to add a widget to a Funnel, first access that Website/Funnel inside of your sites.

Inside the Funnel/Website general view select the Settings Tab

In the Settings tab, you'll find a drop-down menu for Chat widget. By default, none is selected but here is where you would choose from the ones you've created.

Once the Chat Widget is selected click Save to make it live. This will add it to your Funnel/Website according to its settings.

Adding to an External Website

If your website is built on Squarespace, GoDaddy, or the like you will have to install the Chat Widget as an embedded element/custom code element. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, seek out the help of a web developer or your CRM administrator.

To get the code click the three dots icon of your desired widget and click Edit.

Inside the Chat Widget Builder click the Get Code button at the top right corner.

With the pop-up, you can choose how to install this code. Whether you'd like to use Google Tag Manager or raw code.

By clicking this button, you will copy the code so you can then paste it into the header of your website or application.

WordPress Plugin

If you are currently using WordPress for your website, click on Get it for WordPress. You will be redirected to the page to download the plug-in. You can also access the Plug-ins tab inside your WordPress and download LeadConnector.

While it is downloading head to the Business Profile inside your Settings. Scroll down until you find the API Key, if you don't see one click on Generate Key.

Once generated click on the clipboard icon to copy your API key.

Head back to your WordPress and access LeadConnector on the left side Menu.

In there enter your API Key and click the green Save button.

This will pull up the Default Chat Widget, make sure that you have only one in your chat widgets at the moment of doing so if you have a preference. Click the checkbox next to Enable Chat-widget then click both save buttons.

And there you have it! Now you can start adding your Chat Widget to all your pages, helping you keep an open conversation with visitors at all times!
