Messaging through WhatsApp gives you an edge over the competition, especially with international customers, it allows you to chat with them in real-time like you would through Messenger but with more open options. One of the options it offers is creating Media Templates, which allow you to message new contacts or those who haven't been active within the last 24 hours.

WhatsApp Media Templates are pre-approved messages that allow you to include images, videos, documents, or location information. They allow you to send bulk and automated messages with no risk of Meta limiting or banning your conversations. That way you can streamline the communications with your customers and keep a simple, engaging, and standardized base for all chats.

Creating Templates

To create your templates access your Settings, then head over to the Templates tab inside the WhatsApp section and click Create Template.

Add the Template Name, Category, and Language, this will be used by Meta when verifying the template. Enable the Header by toggling the option so your media is the beginning of the message. Once set, select the type of media you'll be using.

Upload your media and set the body for the template.

The content for the Body can include Custom Values such as contact information and trigger links, for Meta's approval you'll have to provide an example of how it would be replaced when sending.

Once satisfied with your template click Create, this will send the template to Meta for approval, which usually takes around 24 to 48 hours, and done! After you receive the approval you can send WhatsApp messages to your contacts with ease, from adding them to an automation, bulk actions or simply having a message ready to go your WhatsApp chatting experience will be much more enticing!
