Reviewing Message Templates

Before diving into customization, it’s essential to thoroughly review the default message templates provided by Go High Level. Here’s how you can do it:

Access the Templates:

  • Navigate to the Automations section in your Go High Level dashboard.
  • Open the specific workflow you want to review (e.g., EMAIL-01. Lead Magnet, SMS-01. Lead Magnet).

Understand the Structure:

  • Examine the structure of each template. Identify the sections that use Custom Values and note how they are applied.
  • Look at the placeholders for these values, such as {{BusinessName}}, {{PrimaryColor}}, and other custom fields.

Evaluate the Content:

  • Assess the messaging style and tone. Determine if it aligns with your niche and target audience.
  • Identify any generic language or content that needs to be personalized to better fit your brand voice and marketing goals.

Customizing Email Templates: EMAIL-01. Lead Magnet

Customizing an email template involves editing both the visual elements and the written content. Here’s how you can do it:

Edit Custom Values:

  • Go to Settings > Custom Values and update the values for {{BusinessName}}, {{PrimaryColor}}, and other relevant fields.
  • These changes will automatically reflect across all templates that use these values, simplifying the editing process.

Personalize the Content:

  • Open the EMAIL-01. Lead Magnet template.
  • Replace any generic greetings with a personalized one, e.g., "Hello {{FirstName}},"
  • Tailor the message to your specific lead magnet. If you’re offering an eBook, describe the benefits and what the recipient will gain from it.
  • Include a strong CTA that encourages the recipient to download the lead magnet. For instance, "Click here to download your free eBook now!"

Adjust Visual Elements:

  • Update the email template's design to match your brand identity. Change colors, fonts, and images to align with your branding.
  • Ensure that any visual elements or graphics are relevant to your niche and appeal to your audience.

Customizing SMS Templates: SMS-01. Lead Magnet

Customizing SMS templates follows a similar process but with a focus on concise and impactful messaging. Here’s how to customize SMS-01. Lead Magnet:

Edit Custom Values:

  • Ensure that Custom Values such as {{FirstName}} and {{BusinessName}} are correctly set up in the Settings section.

Personalize the Message:

  • Open the SMS-01. Lead Magnet template.
  • Personalize the message with the recipient’s name, e.g., "Hi {{FirstName}},"
  • Clearly state the lead magnet offer. For example, "Download your free eBook from {{BusinessName}} here: [link]."
  • Use a compelling CTA, such as "Don’t miss out! Download now!"

Customization Tips

Know Your Audience: Tailor your messaging to address the specific pain points and interests of your target audience. Use language and terminology that resonates with them.

Consistent Branding: Ensure that all templates maintain a consistent look and feel that aligns with your brand guidelines. This includes color schemes, fonts, and imagery.

Clear CTAs: Each message should have a clear and compelling call-to-action. Make it easy for your audience to understand what you want them to do next.

Test and Optimize: After customizing your templates, test them to ensure they display correctly on various devices and email clients. Gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.

Onboarding Customization

The level of customization you apply to your templates will determine how much additional onboarding each client will need. By leveraging Custom Values effectively, you can minimize the effort required for initial setup and ongoing adjustments. However, deep customization for specific campaigns or clients may require more detailed onboarding processes.
